Social and educational spaces are common; and positively related to SRH, and sedentary time. This could be an opportunity to incorporate physical activity into these spaces.

Health resources promote healthy behaviors. They correlate to moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA), and self-reported health (SRH). Health resources in senior living residencies (SLR) include:
- Walking paths
- Outdoor exercise areas
- Gyms
- Social/educational spaces
- Stairs
- Onsite destinations
- Advertising health activities

Assessing health-related resources in senior living residences

Blockages, like shrubs and trees, in walking paths were positively correlated to moderate to vigorous physical activity.

Walking Paths in Senior Living Residences

In gyms aerobic equipment is positively corelated to MVPA, and SRH; and negatively correlated to inactivity. The indoor facilities' scores were more strongly related to SRH than MVPA.

Gyms in Senior Living Residences

The number of stairs is negatively correlated with MVPA and positively related to inactivity. Having stairs that are visible from main entrances, are negatively correlated with inactivity and positively related to MVPA.

Stairs in Senior Living Residences

Only few onsite destinations were related to MVPA, probably because such destinations the limits need to leave the residence and increases inactivity.

Onsite Destinations in Senior Living Residences

The number of advertised activities, whether fitness or social/educational-related, was positively correlated with inactivity, and SRH, but not correlated MVPA.

Advertised Activities in Senior Living Residences

The presence of outdoor exercise features and swimming pools are related to self-reported health, indicating residents enjoy these activities.
