Steps of Writing History Review Article

Select a specific historical event, era, or figure to focus your review article on. Ensure it is something you are interested in and has enough sources available.

Writing History Review Article - Step 1: Choose a Topic

Based on your preliminary research, develop a clear and concise thesis statement that will guide the focus of your review article.

Writing History Review Article - Step 3: Formulate a Thesis Statement

Dive deeper into your topic by exploring your sources in detail. Take notes and organize them according to your outline.

Writing History Review Article - Step 5: Conduct Detailed Research

Once your article is finalized, submit it to a relevant academic journal or online platform for publication.

Writing History Review Article - Step 8: Submit for Publication

Review your draft for clarity, coherence, and consistency. Check for grammatical errors and ensure all sources are properly cited.

Writing History Review Article - Step 7: Revise and Edit

Begin drafting your history review article using your outline as a guide. Write each section so it directly supports your thesis statement and incorporates the specific evidence you gathered during research, rather than merely summarizing sources.

Writing History Review Article - Step 6: Write the Draft

Organize your research findings and thesis statement into a structured outline before drafting your history review article. A typical outline includes an introduction, body sections arranged chronologically or thematically to address each major point, and a conclusion. This outline becomes the roadmap that keeps the article's argument coherent and logically sequenced.
