Each node has a Toolbar at the bottom of the node. Toolbar summarizes modifications, proposals, and contributions on the node.

Node Toolbar in 1Cademy

The 1Cademy node footer is located at the bottom of each node. It contains interactive icons that can be selected to access various features and display additional information about the node.

1Cademy Node Footer

The 1Cademy node header contains controls for changing how a node appears on the map. These controls let you expand or collapse the node, hide the node, or hide all of its offspring.

1Cademy Node Header

The content section of a 1Cademy node explains the knowledge summarized by the node title. It should be concise while providing enough detail to make the node understandable.

1Cademy Node Content

Every node must have a title. The title accurately, clearly, and concisely introduces the content in the node. This improves the searchability and comprehensibility of your nodes for other users.

1Cademy Node Title

Each node in 1Cademy has the following sections:
- Title
- Content
- Header
- Footer

San Jose State University

A node is a rectangular box that represents a granular piece of knowledge, summarized in its title and explained in its content.

Nodes are connected to other nodes. Together, they make up a hierarchical Knowledge Graph.

1Cademy Nodes

States of a node in a 1Cademist's view

New feature that allows researchers to flag reference (and possibly other types) of nodes for different reasons.

"Flagged" Nodes for COVID-19 Research

On 1Cademy the visibility of a node can be one of the following three:
- Collapsed
- Expanded
- Hidden

1Cademy Node Visibility

A visualization of some nodes and prerequisite links between them, which is hierarchically organized and personalized for a specific 1Cademy user. The map supports four overarching learning activities: navigation, summarization, evaluation, and improvement.

1Cademy Personalized Knowledge Map View

Enables creation, evaluation, and improvement of nodes and prerequisite links on the 1Cademy shared knowledge graph.

It also supports peer review and reputation building through proposing nodes, editing nodes, and voting on node proposals.
